Dr. Joshua Li is an associate professor/Williams Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Oklahoma State University in the United States. His research interests span a wide range of interdisciplinary areas in the design, evaluation, and management of smart and connected transportation and civil infrastructure systems.

More specifically, developing sensor systems for automated data acquisition; utilizing advanced imaging techniques, data analytics, and artificial intelligence for big data understanding; monitoring and characterizing surface conditions to support infrastructure integrity, transportation mobility, and safety; exploring innovative new ways for intelligent and connected transportation systems; implementing the mechanistic-empirical (ME) based pavement design; and engineering innovative smart building materials are integral areas of my research. Dr. Li has been supported at both the state and national levels with research fundings from over a dozen state highway agencies, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
