| Professor Dr. Rita Moura Fortes has a degree in Technology in Civil Constructions from FATEC, Civil Engineering from Universidade Federal de São Carlos, MSc, PhD in Civil Engineering from Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo. Founder and associate editor of IJP – International Journal of Pavements – ISSN 1676-2797 since 2001. She is a founding member of iSMARTi (International Society for Maintenance and Rehabilitantion of Transports Infrastructures) and was executive vice president, from 2016 to 2020, of this society. She is a founding member and vice president of ANDIT – National Association for Transportation Infrastructure. She was elected titular member of the Pan American Academy of Engineering in 2012, in which she has been developing several international works, having been elected in 2014 as representative of Brazil by FEBRAE in? the Disaster Risk Management and Resilience committee? of UPADI (Pan American Federation of Engineers Societies) and member of the Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (AETDEW). She has also been a member, since 2012, of the TRB AV070 Aircraft/Airport Compatibility committee. She was elected Membership in the WFEO – World Federation of Engineering Organization Standing Technical Committee for Women in Engineering in 2016. In 2017 she won the award for her outstanding achievement worldwide in transportation, education and research, contributing significantly to the advancement of transportation infrastructure technologies, cited as a reference for the present and future generation of transportation professionals. Currently she is a volunteer professor at the post-graduation course of Civil Engineering – Lato Sensu in AIRPORTS, DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION of the Federal Institute of São Paulo, retired professor by IFSP and was a permanent professor of the Post-Graduation Program in Materials Science and Engineering (PPGCEM) of the Federal University of Amazonas – UFAM. She was Professor at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels of the School of Engineering at Mackenzie Presbyterian University and Guest Professor at the Graduate Program in Transportation Engineering at the State University of Campinas and of Environmental and Sanitary Engineering at Anhembi Morumbi University. She is a consultant in the areas of soils, tropical soils, sidewalks, materials, urban transport, railroads and airports.
