Jorge Pais is an Associate Professor of Transportation Group of the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Minho, Portugal, since 1993, where he served as the Department head between 2006 and 2015 and vice-head between 2005 to 2012. His area of expertise is road pavement engineering, with emphasis on road materials and structural analysis. Teaching areas include the Geometric Highway Design, Road Pavement Design, and Railways Design undergraduate and post-graduate courses. He is the author or co-author of more than 200 papers in international and national journals and conferences.
